The vision

As I think back over the past ten years when God began to ignite a dream in my heart, I found it took time to see the fullness of that dream. Out of my intimate times in God’s presence, a dream began to flow from the heart of God into mine. Out of intimacy and time in God's presence, I began to realize the fruition of “The Refuge.” 

 

“The Refuge” is a place where leaders, missionaries, and those in ministry along with their families can come into a setting where they can experience healing, renewing, and restoration of body, soul, and spirit. A place where intimacy and the renewing of your first love are not entrapped in the busyness of your ministry schedule, but in a relaxing and peaceful environment that refreshes one’s self.

 

As God began to build the vision for “The Refuge,” I saw a retreat center located in the midst of mountains, streams, and the beauty of God’s creation. I began to see paths throughout the property called Destiny Paths where you take time to sit and pray, journal, and record your thoughts as God ‘s voice speaks clearly to your soul. Relax as you enjoy hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming in the on-site pool, playing games, and interacting with the farm animals and our petting zoo. Our ministry staff will be available to converse, counsel, and pray with our guests as you enjoy your stay at The Refuge.

 

There will be a peaceful and beautiful facility for your stay at The Refuge. Sizeable bedrooms with attached baths, a comfortable living room area, a game room for your enjoyment, and a full kitchen being staffed by our on-site chef, preparing delicious meals as you relax and enjoy your time with us. 

 

The vision of The Refuge began as a place of restoration and rest for pastors and ministry leaders, but as God expanded our vision, we realized it could be so much more. The Refuge could also be for families and individuals facing life-threatening illnesses, leadership retreats for church and ministry staffs, weddings, family reunions, and day getaways for businesses wanting to have time to plan and build team relational dynamics.

 

The Refuge is an ever-growing dream, and it all begins this year of 2022. Whether it’s for a day, weekend, or the entire week, come and find yourself at The Refuge!
